With Alvaro Brites' floor filler "Distant Disorder" still in our ears, Question of Time reaches QOT11 with "Vacation", the debut EP of Polyswitch, and if you ever wondered how House music sounds like in Casablanca, these four tracks will reassure you that it's warm, groovy, refined and full of life.
The EP opens with "Vacation", a track that slowly opens from a mysterious distant sound to a full positively-charged house beat. "Ocean View" brings on a more organic feel, with its masterful use of live bass and keys, and again we're very gently immersed in Polyswitch’s oceanic sunset beats until an unexpected drop suddenly sweeps us away into the waves. Pure joy! "Changing States" admittedly changes into a more introspective mood, but still is a work of beauty. The style is more retro, not miles away from early Planet E output, for e.g., but with an updated, perfected feel - timeless! The Detroit mood continues with the closing track "Rewind", though in a much more upbeat manner, as a mischievious bassline moves the track through fluffy synthy sounds, again lighting up the room with happiness.
"Vacation EP" shows Polyswitch's ability to produce different styles of dance music while infusing them with his own warm and inspiring sound. This is music that you want to hear, and definitely a future classic.

A terrific minimal house EP that strips everything back to the essentials: a faint hint of synth and a big, driving beat. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 6, 2024
Meticulously designed but not without emotional pull, Jacob Ohrberg's subtle electronic music sounds like a dream of a distant dancefloor. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 1, 2023
